Witchcraft/Paganism

Coming (slightly) Out of the Broom Closet

Whoops! Someone else found out about the witchcraft, lets just say he didn’t have the worst reaction (and by that I mean we’re still friends) but I’m pretty sure he’d have been happier not knowing. And he did say some things that I laughed off when he said them, but it’s harder to laugh when I really think about them. I wasn’t really expecting a bad reaction from him, he knows I’m a Pagan and that didn’t seem to bother him. I know they’re not necessarily the same thing, but for me they kind of are, as both are more about the spiritual side of things than anything else for me, even yoga and meditation tend to get lumped into my category of “It’s a Spiritual Thing”.

I was actually working up the courage to tell my father about the Pagan thing (though not the witchcraft, one thing at a time here) but now I’m not so sure. I’d be heartbroken if he had a bad reaction to it, and he’s not nearly as open minded as this friend normally is. :sigh: Maybe I should hold off for a while. My father is actually the last person I really intend to tell (I don’t feel it’s anyone else’s business) and I’d kind of like to get it over with so I don’t have to stress over it anymore but my courage seems to have gone out the window after today 😦

Super Moon – August 29th, 2015

I’m slightly hesitant to make my second blog post be about witchcraft, mostly because I’m well used to having to hide that part of myself from family, friends, and strangers alike, there are a grand total of three people I know in real life who know I am a witch (and only one of them managed to be supportive from the get go).  That said though, it’s a big part of who I am and I will certainly be blogging about it once in a while.

And tonight is the first of three super moons right in a row, the August, September, and October full moons are all super moons. What does that mean? Well scientifically it just means the moon is a bit closer to the earth than it normally is, though you may or may not be able to actually see a difference. But the moon is incredibly important in many forms of witchcraft, for instance, the full moon is the most powerful time for magical workings such as for making moon water or moon braids (which are simply braids of white, black, and silver cord or ribbon that you braid as you focus on the shifting phases of the moon and think about the different cycles that our bodies, our lives, and our spirituality go through, they’re great to hang in a window afterwards).

Speaking of powerful magic, I’m going to be making my first ever wand tonight! Which I am incredibly excited about and looking forward to. I’ve never really needed a wand before but I figure if I don’t have one I’ll end up needing it. I’ve created my own spell for this and am going to decorate my wand tonight as I wait for the moon to rise, have I mentioned I’m excited?

Okay, I’m going to leave you with an easy spell that you might want to try tonight (please note, I didn’t write this spell and I cannot guarantee your results. Please use appropriate caution).
